The St. Thomas Restaurant Group got their start with a small pizza shop on the East End of St. Thomas and two decades later, they now own eight restaurants on the island: Caribbean Fish Market, Sangria’s Beachside Bistro, Cruzan Beach Club, Sunset Grille, Pesce Italian, Zest Frozen Yogurt, Melt Mexican Grill, and Raw Sushi + Sake Bar.
STRG came to Champ looking for to update and refresh the websites of all 8 of their venues located on the island of St. Thomas, USVI.
Our approach to the project was to create a visually appealing website that was easy to navigate and provided an excellent user experience. We wanted to ensure that visitors to the website could easily find the information they needed, such as the restaurant’s menu, location, and hours of operation. Additionally, we wanted to highlight the restaurant’s unique character and ambiance, so that visitors would be enticed to make a reservation and experience it for themselves.
Our task was to create a cohesive online presence for the group, while still giving each individual location its own unique identity.
We started by developing a core template for the website layout, which ensured that all of the websites had a consistent structure and functionality. This approach allowed us to maintain a level of consistency across the group’s online presence, while still allowing for customization on each individual location’s website.
To differentiate each location, we utilized unique color palettes and branding elements, such as logos and font choices. We also made sure to incorporate imagery that was specific to each location, such as photographs of the venue and the surrounding area. By doing this, we were able to create a distinct identity for each location, while still maintaining a cohesive overall brand image for the restaurant group.
Throughout the project, we made sure to keep communication channels open with the restaurant group, regularly providing updates and incorporating their feedback into the designs. The end result was a set of websites that perfectly captured the unique character of each location, while still being part of a larger, cohesive brand identity. Our approach has helped the restaurant group to establish a strong online presence, while providing a positive user experience for their customers.
When working with the restaurant group on their website project, one of the key considerations was the needs of their target audience. Many of the restaurant’s customers were tourists or older individuals, who may not be as comfortable with technology or have access to a desktop computer. As a result, we made sure that the websites were designed to be user-friendly and mobile-first.
