According to HubSpot in a survey conducted last year, marketers are redesigning their websites more frequently than one would think. More than half, 68% to be exact, have undergone a redesign in the last 12 months. For the businesses that took on the challenge the redesign took between 4-5 months. But when is the right time to redesign, look for a few tell-tale signs that it’s time to dive in. On average businesses look at a redesign every 2-3 years, but some may choose to take the plunge on the early side or on the later side.
If your website suffering from any of these symptoms, it may be time to call in the reinforcements:
-loss of website traffic and/or sales leads
-current site does not reflect your brand or match with your service offerings
-lack of mobile responsiveness: ensure your site can be seen on any platform, from desktop to iPhone
-out of date with today’s technology and cutting edge design
If you decide that redesign is the best direction to take after some analysis and looking at some competitor websites, ensure you keep your SEO strategy cohesive (as long as it’s working) you don’t want to wreak havoc and lose your top positioning on the search engines.
